Summer in Vancouver

Having just spent 3 months in California during the winter, I was asked A LOT if I’d ever want to move there permanently because “it’s the best place on earth”, and I could honestly answer no every time. Even though the weather there was 30 degrees warmer than Vancouver was in December, nothing compares to Vancouver in the summer. I repeat, nothing. We’ve got it all; the mountains, the ocean, lakes, rivers, hiking, biking, kayaking – need I go on! I just kept telling everyone, once you experience Vancouver in the summertime you’ll understand why we put up with the cold, rainy winters.

So, now that the sun is out, the Vancouverites are dusting off their bikes, pulling out their paddle boards, inflating their kayaks and getting ready for an amazing summer.

No one wants their hair in their face while they’re out being active in the sun, so we’ve compiled a few hairstyles that are perfect for those long action packed summer days in Vancouver (or wherever you are!)

  1. Dutch/Boxer Braids

Try throwing on a no-slip headband if you’ve got short little fly-aways that you don’t want sticking to your face!

3. Upside-down Braid

4. Bunched Pony

Pick up a pack of clear or black mini elastics from the dollar store and you’ve got a pretty twist on a regular pony!

So many more great hairstyles out there for working out and enjoying the sun, here’s just a few of our favourites! Get outside and enjoy the sun!

Happy 5 Year Anniversary to TRiM!

5 years have passed and despite it sounding cliche, it truly feels like only yesterday we were hanging the mirrors, stocking the shelves and tidying up the renovation debris for opening day.

Each year since we became a part of the Main Street community has been one to remember. From the moment we decided to sign the lease and bring our dream to life, our friends and family have supported us and have continuously cheered us on. On top of this support, the neighbourhood has been so welcoming to us. The small-business-owner friends that we have made on Main Street are like family now. Our resident neighbours are so supportive and loyal to this community it’s heart-warming and contagious.

Our Trim Family has grown over the years. We set out 5 years ago to create a space for everyone to feel welcome, as if they were visiting a friend’s house, with a team of people who love to cut hair and enjoy a good laugh. Without our TRiM family the past 5 years wouldn’t have been possible. To now look back on what we’ve all created together, we are humbled and so grateful for all of the energy that has been spent over the years building this little business that we call home.

Thank you everyone for your years of continued support and encouragement. We are forever grateful. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Sarah, Rich & Baby Jack.
